Fuser Overheat error on Phaser 3500; any ideas of what the problem might be?

Note: I have recently replaced the Fuser on my Xerox Phaser 3500 after reveiving a Low Heat error message and having stopped working. Now, it works, yet I keep getting paperjams pretty often, aswell as Fuser Overheat messages. Anybody out there please help me diagnose the problem. I am going crazy with this machine.

The fuser is most likely still the culprit for both those fuser errors, but there are troubleshooting steps to take to verify the problem, but you should probably have a qualified tech perform it as it requires the service manual to locate the appropriate test points and values needed. Here's the excerpt from the manual for the basic troubleshooting steps:

According to the Xerox Service Manual:
1. i. Does the error report Fuser Failure?
Yes - Go to Step 2.... No - Go to Step 3.
2. i. Check the thermistor. ii. Is the circuit open?
Yes - Replace the Fuser.... No - Replace the Main Board.
3. i. Check the line voltages across the thermostats. ii. Are they open?
Yes - Replace the Fuser.... No - Go to Step 4.
4. i. Is the Fuser getting power?
Yes - Replace the Fuser.... No - Replace the SMPS. Replace the Main Board.

As for the paper jams, that can also be any number of things that can cause that, and you didn't say exactly where the jams were occurring in the printer (i.e. tray, top, exit, rear, duplex, etc...) Again, the Service Manual covers it depending on the location that it's happening or reporting. It could be worn/dirty rollers, broken paper tray, damaged/defective or dirty sensors, bad clutch or solenoid, main board or SMPS, etc... Again, a trained/experienced tech with a service manual would be a good idea, unless you're technically proficient and can acquire a service manual to use.
