Actually it is 50mm and the other is 70-300mm but im using Nikon DX Format so it magnifies automatically..

My subjects are usually: Portraits, cars, landscape. I currently have the 18-55 kit lens.
I want a lens that is sharper than my current lens. I also want to "blur" the background? It is very hard with the 18-55 and i dunno why. Thanks very much!
Don't worry with the DX changing the focal length - it makes no difference unless you compare it with a FX camera
I would go for 50mm, it is affordable, sharp and the large aperture leads to great blurred background.
If you feel the need to be close to the subject later on, you could buy a larger zoom as a third lens
